So,
In terms of reflecting about how I perceive pregnancy of others I was wondering if it would be possible to examine the treatment of my pregnant cat - she had babies about a week ago. I don't know if this is at all relevant or if involving the treatment of animals can say as much about culture and pregnancy as I think it can. Should I just record what I saw/what I felt and enacted? Thoughts?

That would be one way to go around the IRB. And quite a fascinating project--actually, I don't know of anybody who does anything like this.
ReplyDeleteI would pay attention to language, transfer of technology, and any parallels. It might be useful just to take very detailed notes of your experience, esp in the vet office, how your friends and family might have talked about the event, etc, and at the end of the project, compare them to your "human" results.
